Reef Zlements Boron

Boron in seawater contributes to alkalinity and plays a significant role in the regulation of pH through its ability to be present as Boric acid or Borate ions. Maintaining levels around 6mg/L in a reef aquarium will support coral health by aiding pH regulation in their tissues, stabilising molecules and cell membrane function which will affect nutrient uptake and overall coral health.

Observations have shown that with adequate levels of Boron in a reef aquarium SPS can display bright and almost metallic colours.

20 ml of Boron Zlement increases the Boron concentration of 100 litres by 1 mg/l.
